When you compete for the business, compete with energy. You should feel alive pushing the envelope of competition. Winning orders should not only be important to you, but provide you with a mental edge against the competition. Don't let the competition intimidate you. Respect them, but don't revere them. If you put your competitor above yourself, you will be the one playing catch-up, not them. Watch for the competition's soft spot. Move quickly and outperform them at every turn. The competition is a constant reminder to your customers that you are either working to gain theirbusiness or you aren't. Stay focused on responding to your customer's needs, growing their business, and forget looking over your shoulder. The competition will always be there. Make them focus on you.
